The Athletic Development of the Dressage Horse - Charles De Kunffy
This is an excellent book which describes "Manege Patterns" with good diagrams to give you lots of exercises to ride along with clear descriptions of their purpose in making your horse a better athlete.

The Complete Training of Horse & Rider - Alois Podhajsky
This is a thorough manual of classical riding by a former director of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna

The Art of Horsemanship - Xenophon
This is a translation of a book that is over 23 centuries old but still amazingly relevant today.

Basic training of the young horse - Reiner Klimke
An excellent read for those starting out with a young horse

The Principles of Dressage - Brigadier General Kurt Albrecht
This is a serious, in depth but informative little book.
